Co-founder & Principal at WORKac

Amale Andraos, born in Beirut, is a principal and co-founder of WORKac, the New York architecture firm she started in 2003. She is Professor and Dean Emeritus of Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), where she was the school's first woman dean, also serving as Architecture Advisor to the President and Special Advisor for the Climate School. Her work with WORKac has included Edible Schoolyards in Brooklyn and Harlem and public libraries in Queens and Brooklyn. She trained earlier at OMA and has co-authored several publications, including "Architecture and Representation: the Arab City."
