London-born, New York-based multidisciplinary designer who founded her eponymous studio in 2006. Works across furniture, lighting, fine jewelry, interiors, and creative direction from a two-story studio and showroom on the Lower East Side, a converted fire-damaged print shop with a ground-floor showroom and basement workshop. Represented on The Future Perfect's Made By roster. Karlin studied visual communication and worked in art direction and set design before turning to furniture and object design, seeking to make something more permanent than ephemeral stage work. Her output includes the Glyph sconce, Lady lamp, Bump tables, Slump chair, Puddle coffee tables, and a bestselling Chess stool, worked in materials such as marble, hand-blown glass, and handwoven textiles; her pieces have been placed in the homes of clients including John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
