Christopher Sharples

Christopher Sharples is a Founding Principal of SHoP Architects, established in 1996 with his twin brother William Sharples, Coren Sharples, Kimberly Holden, and Gregg Pasquarelli. He has led projects including the Barclays Center, Essex Crossing in Manhattan, Uber's San Francisco headquarters, and several U.S. embassies. SHoP was named Fast Company's Most Innovative Architecture Firm in the World (2014) and won the Smithsonian/Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Architecture (2009). He holds BA and BFA degrees from Dickinson College and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University, and has taught at Cornell, Columbia, Yale, Parsons, and the University of Virginia.
