Latvian designer-maker working across neon, metal, glass, and clay to create light-focused sculptural objects and installations. Holds an MFA in Contextual Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven and a BFA in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Based in Riga, Latvia; her neon sculptures are represented by Love House, an NYC gallery. Sūna learned neon-making while living in Los Angeles and also works in plaster, wood, cast aluminum, bronze, and lost-wax-cast glass, exploring recurring themes of gas, fire, water, earth, and plasma. Notable pieces include the Vertical Fractal Neon Candles series (2019), shown through Love House, and The Shape of Water (2023), cast-aluminum and paraffin sculptures made using lost-wax casting.
