Daniel Michalik is a Brooklyn-based furniture designer known for working almost exclusively in cork, much of it reclaimed from Portuguese wine-stopper production, alongside salvaged NYC lumber. As founder of DMFD (Daniel Michalik Furniture Design), he has produced pieces for Google, L'Oreal, and Nike, and his work is held in the Smithsonian's permanent collection and has been exhibited at the Milan Furniture Fair and the Renwick Gallery. He is also an Associate Professor of Product and Industrial Design at Parsons School of Design.
