David Kuykendall

David Kuykendall is principal and owner of MGDK Architects, based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas, with an emphasis in history, theory, and urbanism. His career included studios in Copenhagen and Rome and positions at multinational design firms in Dubai and Kuwait before he settled in New York in 2008. He is a registered architect in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Arkansas, NCARB certified, and a LEED Accredited Professional. His design interests center on prefab construction, adaptive reuse, and urban design, and he serves as a guest critic at Pratt Institute, The New School, and the Spitzer School of Architecture.
