David Paul Helpern, FAIA, is the founder and sole owner of Helpern Architects in New York, which he has led for roughly 50 years, completing more than 4,300 projects for institutional, developer, and government clients across commercial, hospitality, residential, and institutional sectors. In 1993 he was elevated to Fellow of the American Institute of Architects for design as well as research and advocacy. He later established the firm's Technical Services division, expanding into owner representation, executive architecture, and expert witness work.
