Enrique Peiniger

Co-founder, with Jean Sundin, of Office for Visual Interaction (OVI), a Manhattan architectural lighting design firm established in 1997. Trained in architecture and social sciences, Peiniger began his career at the Bartenbach daylight design studio in Austria and later worked for a Berlin luminaire manufacturer before co-founding OVI, where he serves as Chief Innovation Officer and is recognized as one of the first Certified Lighting Designers. He has contributed to projects including the New York Times Building, MSG Sphere, the Scottish Parliament, and Al Wasl Plaza at Expo Dubai. OVI's 2004 international design-competition win produced the LED streetlight later adopted as New York City's official fixture, installed near City Hall in 2011 before expanding citywide, and the firm published the book Lighting Design & Process in 2013.
