Everardo Jefferson

Everardo Jefferson is co-founder and principal of Caples Jefferson Architects, a Long Island City firm he established with Sara Caples in 1987, focused on projects at the intersection of social equity, education, and culture. Notable work includes the Weeksville Heritage Center visitor center in Brooklyn and the Louis Armstrong Center in Corona, Queens. The firm won the AIANY President's Award (2017) and AIA New York State Firm of the Year (2012). Jefferson serves as a Commissioner of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and has taught as a Davenport Professor at Yale; he co-authored 'Many Voices: Architecture for Social Equity.'
