Co-Founder & Principal at SO-IL

Florian Idenburg is a Dutch architect and principal who co-founded SO-IL in Brooklyn in 2008 with Jing Liu, after the two met in Tokyo in 2001; his career began in Amsterdam and Tokyo. His institutional work with SO-IL includes Kukje Gallery in Seoul, the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis, and Amant in Brooklyn. He has taught at Harvard, MIT, Columbia, and Princeton, and currently serves as a Professor of Practice at Cornell University. In 2010 he received the Charlotte Köhler Prize from the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund. He is a registered architect in the Netherlands and an International Associate of the AIA.
