Katherine Chia

Katherine Chia, FAIA, is a founding principal of Desai Chia Architecture, which she co-founded with Arjun Desai in 1996 in New York. She holds a Master of Architecture from MIT and a B.A. from Amherst College, and before co-founding the firm she worked with artist Maya Lin on art and architecture projects. She is licensed in New York and Connecticut, received FAIA investiture in 2018, and serves as a board member and treasurer of AIA New York and the Center for Architecture. Desai Chia was named Best Small Architecture Firm (Global) by Architizer in 2025.
