Sculptor & Furniture Maker at The Future Perfect

Hudson Valley, New York-based sculptor and furniture maker who hand-carves whole salvaged logs of Northeast hardwoods into sculptural stools, tables, and seating, and also works in slip-cast porcelain and hand-built stoneware. Self-taught through apprenticeships with Adirondack boat builders and timber framers, Kinsella has focused since 2009 on carving stumps and logs using traditional hand tools rather than machine production, finishing pieces with charred, oxidized, or bleached oak alongside black walnut. His work has been exhibited since 2010 at venues including BDDW in New York and Milan, the Wharton Esherick Museum, and a 2024 exhibition organized by the Michelangelo Foundation, and his pieces are represented in New York by The Future Perfect.
