Laurie Hawkinson is a Principal and co-founder of Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects, a New York firm she established with Henry Smith-Miller in 1982, working across architecture, urban design, installations, and exhibitions. She earned a BFA and master's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a professional architecture degree from Cooper Union. She is a Professor of Architecture at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and serves as the architect member of New York City's Public Design Commission.
