Margarita McGrath

Margarita McGrath is co-founder of noroof architects, a Brooklyn-based studio focused on sustainable, small-footprint homes and adaptive reuse. She holds an M.Arch II from UCLA and a Bachelor of Architecture and BA in Art History from Rice University, and is an Associate Professor at Virginia Tech's School of Architecture + Design. Prior to noroof, she worked at architecture practices in New Haven, Vienna, and Seoul on cultural, educational, and retail projects. Noroof's Slot House received the AIA National Housing Award and AIA National Small Practice Practitioner's Award, and her PorcHouse won an AIA Brooklyn + Queens Design Award for Excellence; the firm's work has been featured in Dwell, Wallpaper*, and the New York Times.
