Michael K. Chen

Michael K. Chen is principal of Michael K. Chen Architecture (MKCA), a New York firm he established in 2011 spanning architecture and interior design across residential, commercial, and cultural projects, including historic rehabilitations, new construction in the Hudson Valley, and international commissions in France. He holds an AB in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.Arch from Columbia University, and was the 2003-2004 John Dinkeloo Fellow at the American Academy in Rome. He is a Registered Architect, a Fellow of the Urban Design Forum, and teaches at Pratt Institute's School of Architecture, having previously taught at UC Berkeley, Cornell, Columbia, and Parsons. In 2020 he co-founded Design Advocates, a network of firms completing community-focused projects.
