Co-Founder & Co-Director at Fort Makers

Noah Spencer co-directs Fort Makers, a Brooklyn-based art and design studio he founded with Nana Spears. The studio produces handmade lighting, furniture, ceramics, textiles, and other collectible objects, often through collaborations with a rotating roster of artists, working across wood, metal, ceramic, glass, and textile. Fort Makers takes its name from the childhood pastime of building forts from blankets and was founded with fellow artist Naomi Clark as a third co-founder; sculptor Elizabeth Whitcomb joined the group in 2012. Noah Spencer was born in Boulder, Colorado, in 1979. Beyond its studio practice, Fort Makers maintains a permanent exhibition and retail space on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
