Reinaldo Sanguino

Long Island City, Queens-based ceramicist creating hand-built and wheel-thrown furniture forms — primarily stools and chairs — finished with expressive glaze and scribbled surface work. Venezuelan-born and based in New York since 1993, Sanguino works improvisationally without sketches, firing pieces in a trio of kilns in his Long Island City studio. His work is held in the collections of the Mint Museum and Minneapolis Institute of Art, and is represented in New York by The Future Perfect.
