Seungjin Yang

Seoul-based artist and designer who transforms balloons into rigid, sculptural furniture forms, including the armchairs, stools, and benches of his "Blowing" series. Yang inflates individual balloons into the desired shape, then applies epoxy resin across eight separate coats, producing a durable, glass-like surface. A 2013 graduate of Hongik University's Metal Art & Design program, Yang has exhibited at the Seoul Museum of Art, the Museum of Cultures Milano (as part of the XXI Triennale di Milano, 2016), and Design Miami/Basel. He is represented in New York by The Future Perfect, which also carries his work through showrooms in Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco.
