Stephen Ely

Stephen Ely is the founder and principal of Stephen Ely Architect, established in New York in 1988. He holds a Master of Architecture with honors from the University of Illinois, where he also taught in the Basic Design curriculum, and began his career in practical construction with a masonry contractor and a modular-housing manufacturer before working at mid-to-large architectural firms in Colorado. His New York firm, based in North Riverdale in the Bronx, handles schools, offices, hospitality, performance, residential, health care, research, religious, correctional, community, retail, and recreational projects, with a design approach emphasizing order and collaborative project leadership from conception through construction.
