Tony Shitemi

Tony Shitemi, AIA, is co-founder and a Partner of Urban Architectural Initiatives (UAI), which he established with David Hirsch in Manhattan in 1996. His practice centers on uniting the disparate elements of a project into creative, workable solutions, with expertise in zoning, code compliance, and balancing client needs against practical feasibility. He has collaborated with nonprofit, for-profit, and government clients on schools, community centers, affordable housing, special-needs facilities, and civic projects, applying the same hands-on approach to major mixed-use developments and smaller-scale work alike.
