Barronarts

Brooklyn Navy Yard fabricator of museum-quality art support structures - expandable stretcher frames, fixed strainers, floater frames, artist panels, and stretched canvas and linen - built to order with CNC-cut components for galleries, artists, and framers. The studio traces its roots to a Kansas City art-school shop before relocating through Brooklyn to its current Navy Yard studio. It was founded by painter and woodworker Jeffrey Barron, who learned canvas-stretching and woodworking at the Kansas City Art Institute and began building stretchers and panels from a Williamsburg loft before the business grew and moved through Gowanus to the Navy Yard in the mid-2000s. Barronarts has built structures for artists including Elizabeth Murray, Sean Scully, and Jack Whitten, and also produces custom exhibition pedestals and packs and ships work worldwide for galleries and museums.
