Beauvais Carpets
Gallery & ShowroomEst. 1990Beauvais Carpets is a Manhattan carpet and tapestry gallery founded in 1990 by David Amini, dealing in 16th- through 19th-century European and Asian antique rugs and tapestries. The firm also runs a custom carpet design division and its own restoration and conservation workshop, serving designers, architects, and museums from its Midtown showroom. The custom division produces carpets to order for interior designers and architects, ranging from in-stock Wilton and Axminster weaves to bespoke hand-tufted, woven, and hand-knotted carpets in fibers from wool to sisal. Restoration and conservation work is carried out in-house, where craftsmen spin and dye yarn to match original materials and each project is supervised by gallery staff to preserve historical authenticity.
