Brooklyn Navy Yard fabricator and installer of stone countertops, vanities, and custom tile work, supplying floor and wall tile for residential and commercial projects. The Building 12 workshop works in quartz, natural stone, and porcelain, partnering directly with premium material suppliers on fabrication and on-site installation. Brooklyn Stone & Tile was formed in 2018 as a worker-owned cooperative after a previous employer with more than 30 years in the industry retired and closed his shop; with support from the nonprofit The Working World, the crew of stoneworkers organized as an employee-owned business rather than disperse. The company holds fabrication certifications with material brands including Silestone, Cambria, Caesarstone, Dekton, Porcelanosa, and Lapitec, and is affiliated with the Stone Fabricators Alliance and Natural Stone Institute.
