Fabrication WorkshopEst. 2002

Brooklyn Navy Yard fabrication studio building scenery, props, and custom work for Broadway, film, television, trade shows, and public art, plus precision tube laser cutting for architects and product designers. Founded around 2002 by carpenter James Robertson and a partner in the aftermath of September 11, the company moved into a 35,000-square-foot Navy Yard facility in 2021. Its scenic-fabrication credits include Broadway and international productions of Hamilton, Frozen, and Dear Evan Hansen, and since 2021 it has run an in-house fiber-laser tube-cutting line — the LT7 — that lets the shop produce precision metal components rather than outsourcing that work.
