Fodera Guitars

Fabrication WorkshopEst. 1983

Fodera Guitars is a Brooklyn instrument-making workshop founded in 1983 by Vinny Fodera and Joey Lauricella, handcrafting custom electric basses and guitars for professional musicians. Operating from Industry City in Sunset Park, the shop builds standard, custom, and signature-artist models, developing its own proprietary hardware and working with outside specialists on pickups and components. Fodera began in a small shop on Avenue O in Brooklyn before relocating to Industry City in 1990; Vinny Fodera oversees instrument design and construction while Joey Lauricella, a working bassist, contributes player feedback and handles electronics. Bassist Anthony Jackson has been a client since the company's founding, and Fodera has built him a series of custom six-string contrabasses; other players associated with the brand include Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, and Christian McBride.
