Formafantasma

Research-based design studio founded in 2009 by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, working from offices in Milan, Italy and Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The practice produces collectible furniture, lighting, and objects that investigate the ecological, historical, and political forces behind design and material sourcing, working in materials such as cherry wood, aluminum, acrylic, and glass. Its founders also head the GEO-Design department at Design Academy Eindhoven, and the studio's work is represented in New York by Friedman Benda gallery. Represented in New York by Friedman Benda.
