Furniture & Objects StudioEst. 2014Brooklyn design and fabrication studio making custom drapery hardware, shelving, tables, and bath accessories, best known for cast-acrylic (lucite) pieces paired with brass and wood. Founded in 2014 by Ashley Platt and based at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the studio designs and produces its made-to-order hardware and retail displays in-house. Platt, a Columbia University graduate who grew up working with wood and machinery on a farm, started the business selling custom drapery rods on Etsy from her mother's garage after being unable to find well-made solid-brass hardware; production later moved to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Its material palette includes cell-cast acrylic alongside architectural-grade brass, bronze, and locally sourced hardwoods.
