MTM Studio
Furniture & Objects StudioMTM Studio is a Brooklyn-based design studio led by Maxwell Taylor-Milner (MFA, Rhode Island School of Design; BA, Bard College), producing sculptural furniture and objects -- desks, mirrors, and lamps -- that foreground material transformation through cast resin, sandcast aluminum, and charred pine. The studio was selected for Colony's 2025 Designers' Residency, an eight-month program pairing three studios with mentorship and subsidized gallery shop space at the Brooklyn gallery. Taylor-Milner's Recent Relics collection, which includes the cast-resin SPE Lamp, the sandcast CGB Mirror, and the charred-pine VDB Desk, draws on a background in art history, a childhood in rural northern New Mexico, and prior work at Donald Judd's Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas.
