Furniture & Objects StudioEst. 2007Brooklyn Navy Yard studio founded in 2007 by RISD-trained industrial designer Andrew Jay Rumpler, producing limited-edition and one-of-a-kind studio furniture, lighting, and architectural metalwork. The practice is known for its "Elsie Series," built from harvested and reclaimed automotive sheet metal, alongside custom cabinetry and interiors work. The Elsie tables were featured in I.D. Magazine's 2008 "New & Notable" green-design issue, and the studio's Tatum's Lounge, shown at Wanted Design in 2011, appeared in a 2010 New York Times feature on locally manufactured design. Rumpler, who named the studio after his grandfather, also created the modular Alex furniture system, built around machined metal connectors that let tables reconfigure into bookcases.
