Pvilion

Industry City, Brooklyn manufacturer of photovoltaic fabric technology, founded by Park Slope native Colin Touhey. Pvilion integrates solar panels into tensile and architectural structures - solar sails, canopies, and mobile solar tents - serving architecture, landscape design, hospitality, and events clients from a 13,500-square-foot manufacturing space. Touhey, a Trinity College-trained electrical engineer, co-founded the company with Todd Dalland, an AIA Fellow known for lightweight-structure design, and Robert Lerner, an architect who previously led technology development programs for NASA and the U.S. Army. The company has directed development of solar-powered fabric for Google and engineered a roughly 6,000-square-foot sustainable structure on the roof of Carnegie Hall, alongside self-erecting robotic shelters for the Army.
