Renfro Design Group

Manhattan-based architectural lighting design firm founded in 1998 by principal Richard Renfro. The practice has completed more than 300 projects in New York City and internationally, including the American Museum of Natural History's Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation. Renfro, who holds a Bachelor of Architecture with honors from the University of Arkansas, discovered lighting design during a summer internship with the International Association of Lighting Designers in New York and spent fifteen years as a principal at another firm before founding his own practice. His portfolio of cultural and historic-preservation projects also includes lighting for Saint Thomas Church, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Fragonard Room at the Frick Collection.
