Brooklyn furniture and product design studio founded by engineer and roboticist Jessica Banks, operating out of New Lab at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The studio designs and manufactures transforming, space-saving furniture and objects -- including magnetically levitating tables and folding chairs -- that combine mechanical engineering with residential design. Banks holds an engineer's degree and a master's from MIT, where she studied in the Humanoid Robotics Group within the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory before leaving to launch the studio in January 2012. Furniture is manufactured locally in New York, and the studio's work has been featured on Netflix's home-design series "Hack My Home."
