Shakúff
Lighting MakerEst. 2007Brooklyn bespoke lighting studio founded in 2007 by Joseph Sidof, based at Industry City in Sunset Park. Shakúff hand-crafts custom chandeliers, pendants, sconces, and table and floor lamps in blown glass combined with metal and wood, designing collaboratively with high-end residential clients and interior design studios. For Capital One's flagship JFK Airport lounge, opened in Terminal 4 in 2025, the studio produced a cascading glass sculpture of suspended glass stones evoking Manhattan and a hand-blown glass-and-brass bar fixture designed to suggest branches and city vegetation, working alongside architecture firm Gensler and Capital One's design team. Each fixture is produced individually, so variations in bubbles, fissures, and color are treated as part of the handmade glasswork rather than flaws.
