SheltonMindel is a New York architecture and interior design practice founded in 1978 by Peter Shelton and Lee F. Mindel, FAIA, with offices in Manhattan, Southampton, and Miami Beach. Mindel earned a B.A. cum laude in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.Arch from Harvard University (1976), and worked at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Rogers, Butler, Burgun before co-founding the firm. The practice, which spans freestanding residences, residential interiors, and corporate, hospitality, and retail design, has received more than 30 AIA awards, 25 SARA awards, and the 2011 Cooper Hewitt National Design Award; Mindel was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1996 and the AD100 Hall of Fame in 2021.
