Nonprofit, open-access glass studio and education center in Downtown Brooklyn, tracing to the New York Experimental Glass Workshop founded in 1977 and renamed UrbanGlass in 1994. Its 17,000-square-foot facility houses hot-shop, cold-shop, kiln-forming, and flameworking studios used by working artists and designers; the UrbanGlass Atelier connects architects and designers with glass artists for custom commissions and site-specific work.
