WAXRAX

WAXRAX is a Brooklyn furniture studio founded in 2015 by designer and metal fabricator David Stanavich, an offshoot of Brooklyn Custom Metal Fabrication. The company designs and builds audiophile-grade vinyl record storage furniture, including carts, shelving, and consoles, hand-fabricated to order from anodized aluminum, brass, and powder-coated steel with custom color and configuration options. Stanavich, who holds a fine art degree from Pratt Institute, founded Brooklyn Custom Metal Fabrication in 2003 from a workshop near Prospect Park before launching WAXRAX; its rolling carts, each holding roughly 200 albums, were designed to recreate the experience of flipping through bins at a record store. Production combines CNC milling with hand fabrication, taking designs from CAD models to finished hardware, including a patented 45 rpm adapter.
