Alan Barlis

Alan Barlis, FAIA, is founder and principal of BarlisWedlick Architects, which he joined in 1997 and became co-owner of in 2005. For more than two decades he has focused on Passive House design; the firm built the first Passive House in New York State in 2010, among the earliest in the country, and designs single-family homes, hospitality, and commercial projects around Passive House principles. He was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2018 and is an adjunct professor at City College of New York, where he has taught sustainable design since 2010.
