Alan Maskin is a principal and owner of Olson Kundig who has designed museums and cultural spaces for more than three decades, joining the firm in 1992. He holds a master's in architecture from the University of Washington. His first project, the Frye Art Museum, earned the firm's first AIA Honor Award; later work includes the Century Project renovation of the Space Needle, the Bob Dylan Center, ANOHA at the Jewish Museum Berlin, and Recompose. He has won eight national and international design competitions and multiple AIA Honor Awards, and co-founded the firm's International Internship Program in 1996.
