South African ceramic artist based in Woodstock, Cape Town, and co-founder of Imiso Ceramics. Working in clay, he developed a signature technique of incised surface marks drawn from Xhosa scarification traditions, producing vessels, tableware, and sculptural furniture. His work is held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Vitra Design Museum, and he is represented in New York by Friedman Benda; he is not based in New York.
