Gallery & ShowroomEst. 2007

Friedman Benda is a Chelsea gallery representing contemporary designers, artists, and historically significant design estates. Founded in 2007 by Marc Benda and Barry Friedman, the gallery mounts exhibitions and produces scholarship spanning design, craft, and art, with a home base in New York and additional locations in Los Angeles and Paris. The gallery is the primary representative for the estates of Ettore Sottsass, Wendell Castle, and Shiro Kuramata, and works with contemporary designers including Andrea Branzi, Joris Laarman, Formafantasma, Nendo, and Faye Toogood. It exhibits at international fairs such as Design Miami and TEFAF New York, and its inaugural 2007 exhibition was devoted to Sottsass's final works.
