Fernando Laposse

Mexico City-based designer trained at Central Saint Martins whose practice transforms overlooked natural materials, including corn husks, sisal, loofah, and cochineal dye, into handcrafted objects and architectural surfaces. His Totomoxtle material, made from heirloom corn-husk marquetry, supports Mixtec farming communities in Puebla. Laposse's work is held in the V&A and SFMOMA collections and is represented in New York by Friedman Benda gallery.
