Founder, Joris Laarman Lab at Joris Laarman Lab

Designer whose lab, based in Zaandam, Netherlands (near Amsterdam), merges digital fabrication, robotics, and 3D printing with traditional craftsmanship. Founded in 2004, Joris Laarman Lab is known for computationally generated aluminum furniture such as the Bone series and for MX3D's 3D-printed steel bridge project. His work is held in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Centre Pompidou, and the Rijksmuseum, and is represented in New York by Friedman Benda.
