Belmont Freeman

Belmont Freeman, FAIA, is founding principal of Belmont Freeman Architects, a New York City firm he established in 1986 that works across academic, civic/cultural, commercial, and residential sectors in North America, Europe, and Asia, with an emphasis on historic preservation and sustainable design. He grew up near Washington, D.C., studied Urban Studies and Art History at Yale, and received his Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. The firm's work includes the restoration of New York's Four Seasons Restaurant and the Gertrude Ederle Recreation Center on Manhattan's Upper West Side, and has received awards from multiple AIA chapters and the Historic Districts Council.
