Ceramic artist working in Bushwick, Brooklyn, known for colorful geometric ceramic vessels and wall works built from tessellated, pigmented clay slabs. Earned a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 2007 and has exhibited with Patrick Parrish, R & Company, David Gill, and at Design Miami and UNTITLED Art fair. His work is represented by The Future Perfect, an NYC gallery. Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Hoyt trained in painting and printmaking, studied monumental art at the Akademie Voor Beeldende Kunst in the Netherlands, and relocated to Brooklyn in 2011. He created Theoretical Foyer, a temporary public installation of roughly 2,000 cast concrete pavers, for Exhibit Columbus in Columbus, Indiana in 2017, received a 2018 Peter S. Reed Foundation grant, and has held residencies at Anderson Ranch and Archie Bray.
