Dan Blitzer

Principal of the Practical Lighting Workshop, a New York lighting-industry consultancy founded in 1993 offering strategy, communications, and training services. Blitzer began his lighting career at Lightolier in 1979 after earning an economics degree from Columbia University and working several years in finance, starting as a salesman in San Francisco before managing specification sales at Lightolier's New Jersey headquarters. He has authored energy-efficiency guides and NCQLP exam materials, served on the faculty of the Signify Lighting Application Center from 2003 to 2019, and taught for the American Lighting Association and the Building Energy Exchange. A longtime board member and past president of the Designers Lighting Forum of New York, he holds LC and FIES credentials and is involved with the Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education.
