David Yum

David Yum is the founder and principal of David Yum Architects (DYA), a New York City firm he established in 2000 specializing in residential and institutional architecture and interiors, with a focus on critical analysis, research, and client-specific solutions. He was educated at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and has taught design at Harvard, NJIT, the Boston Architectural Center, and FIT, where he received a Teaching Merit Award in 2004 and 2006. His firm received an AIA Honor Award for the Evening Land Winery project in Santa Barbara County, California, and its restoration of the Soldiers and Sailors Arch at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn received a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy. His work has been published in Architectural Record and Interior Design.
