Giovanni Valdeavellano

Giovanni Valdeavellano, a Guatemalan designer living in New York, founded Studio POA, a furniture and object practice that began in a shared woodshop at Piscina in Red Hook, Brooklyn and now operates from upstate New York. Working primarily in solid ash and mixed materials -- wood, ceramic, and glass -- he hand-shapes tables, chairs, and mirrors that draw on the landscape, art, and architecture of his native Guatemala. Studio POA is represented in New York by Love House design gallery.
