Illya Azaroff, FAIA, is the founding director of +LAB Architect PLLC, based in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and a leader in resilient design and disaster mitigation with more than 25 years of experience. He is a professor of architecture at New York City College of Technology (CUNY) and previously taught at the School of Visual Arts and NYIT. He holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute. Azaroff was elected AIA's 2025 President-elect and serves as 2026 AIA National President, following earlier terms as AIA New York State President and COP-28 delegation chair.
