Karen Marie Stonely

Karen Marie Stonely, AIA, LEED AP, is a Founding Principal of SPAN Architects in New York, co-founded in 2004 with Peter Pelsinski after they established SPA together in 1995. Her practice focuses on how the built environment can support human health, creativity, and connection, with an emphasis on biophilic design. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University and previously served two terms as Vice President of Open House New York. She founded LAAB (Life As A Brain), an endowment supporting research into rare neurological conditions.
