Luam Melake is a New York-based designer whose sculptural furniture grows out of material research and an interest in psychology and social interaction. Working primarily in upholstery foam finished with poured urethane coatings and translucent dyes, she builds modular, skin-like forms that sit between function and fine art. She has held solo exhibitions at R & Company, including Furnishing Feelings (2023) and Resemblance of Things Past (2026), and received a Female Design Council grant in 2019.
